Cookies and website analytics
Our website uses Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are useful, and Google Ads tracking to measure whether our adverts lead to enquiries. These tools use cookies and similar technologies, which collect information such as your IP address, device and the pages you view. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time, and the website will still work. You can also opt out of Google Analytics using Google's opt-out browser add-on.
Who we share your information with
We only share information where we need to, with:
- Our accountant and the online accounting software we use to keep our business records.
- Google, for website analytics, advertising, email, calendar, file storage and booking links.
- Our certification software provider, for producing and storing electrical certificates.
- Our certification body (NICEIC), where they inspect our work and need to see records of jobs.
- Your landlord, letting agent or tenant, where we are carrying out an inspection or work on their behalf. We send certificates to the person who ordered the work.
- Local authority building control, where notifiable work needs to be reported.
- HMRC and other authorities, where the law requires it.
Some of these providers are based outside the UK, including in the United States. Where that happens, we rely on the safeguards those providers use, such as the UK's approved international data transfer arrangements.
How long we keep your information
- Enquiries that don't lead to work: up to 12 months.
- Invoices, payments and accounting records: 6 years, as required for tax.
- Electrical certificates and test records: at least 6 years, as they may be needed to show the work was safe and compliant.
We then delete or anonymise the information.

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
- ask us to correct anything that is wrong;
